Melba Arlene Stapleton Ruddell

Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Arlene Ruddell, age 83 of Olla will be held 1:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2016 from the sanctuary of Standard Baptist Church with Bro. Shad Tibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery at Olla with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation will be Monday, November 7, 2016 from 10 AM until time of service at Standard Baptist Church, Olla. Melba Arlene Stapleton Ruddell was born on July 13, 1933 at Columbia, LA and passed from this life on November 4, 2016 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. She was one of eleven children born to John Wesley Stapleton and Fannie Laura Davis Stapleton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Byrl Ruddell, by her parents and by her brothers and sisters: Rudolph Stapleton, Euda Lee Stapleton, Reba Stapleton, Frances Larry, Paul Stapleton, Carroll Stapleton and Estelle Allen. She was a member of Standard Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory is her son: Roger Corley and his wife, Connie of Rowlett, TX; three sisters: Betty Sharp and husband, David of Olla, Virginia Ledoux of Monroe and Jo Ann Bresett of Calhoun; two grandchildren: Kelly Corley Payne and husband, Bryan of Austin, Texas and Roger Paul Corley of Brooklyn, New York; two great- grandchildren: Georgia and Lucas Payne.
