Maynard Barnhill

Funeral services for Maynard Barnhill will be held at 2 PM, Monday, February 20, 2023, from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Grayson, with Bro. Shane Duke officiating and Bro. Daniel Patton assisting. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery, Clarks, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. The family will host a visitation on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Lenard Barnhill, known to all as Maynard, age 69 of Columbia, LA was born at Monroe, LA on February 6, 1954, to the union of his parents, Marvin Edward Barnhill and Arletha Lingefelt Barnhill, and he passed from this life on February 15, 2023. Maynard was unique man that loved his family and loved the Lord. He held many titles but lived up to "BOSS" the best until he gave that title to his daughter. His pride and joy was his two grandbabies. He was proud of them and never missed a chance to brag about their accomplishments.

Maynard was a "Jack of All Trades" and he never met a stranger. He had friends everywhere that always had a story to tell. Maynard was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Arletha Barnhill; his in-laws, J.W. Short and Annie Hatten; and one sister, Gloria Ann Grant.

Those left to treasure a lifetime of memories are his wife the mother of his children, Noma Hatten Barnhill; his son, Joseph Barnhill and fianceé,Carrie Dannehl; daughter, Bristy Skyles and husband, Steven Skyles; granddaughters, Sarah Woomer and Lauren Barnhill; three brothers: Thomas W. Barnhill, Glen Barnhill, and Roy Barnhill; and four sisters: Jean Patton, Sue Gibson, Margaret Stapleton, and Blanche Gibson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Crain, Mike Morgan, Andrew Gibson, Tommy Gibson, Todd Lingefelt, Brad Lingefelt, Adam Schrock, and Courtney Dunn. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Guice, Chris Lingefelt, Adam Lingefelt, Matthew Barnhill, and Kris Hatten.

A special thank you to Caldwell Parish Dialysis Center for their many years of taking great care of Maynard. Special thanks to Compassus Hospice for the care and support provided. Also thanks to Express Medical Staffing.
