Mary Josephine Meredith

Funeral services for Mary Josephine Hawkins Meredith, age 90 of Wisner, LA will be held at 2 PM Thursday, March 21, 2013 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Wisner with Bro. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the church from 6 PM to 8 PM then again Thursday from 12 PM until time of service. Mrs. Meredith was born on July 15, 1922 in Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, John Russ and Minnie Meredith Hawkins and went home to be with her Lord on March 19, 2013 at Mary Anne Nursing Home in Wisner, LA. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Wisner since 1960. She was a scholar of the Bible and taught Sunday School for many years. Taking care of her family and being there for them was her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Ernest Meredith, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Mary Louise Douglas and Norma Hawkins and her brother, John Russ Hawkins, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Jo Caldwell and husband, Mike and Jan Williamson; grandchildren: Chris Roberts,Todd Roberts, Devin and Tandi Caldwell, and John Williamson; great-grandchildren: Tyler Roberts, Patti Roberts, Hailey Caldwell, Makayla Roberts, Tanner Roberts, Chelsea Ardoin and Cade Caldwell; great-great-grandchild, Jack Tyler Roberts and numerous friends. Pallbearers will be Todd Roberts, John Williamson, Tyler Roberts, Devin Caldwell, W.H. Sanders, Donald Ross, Cade Caldwell and Tanner Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Duncan, Ernest Kiper and Bobby Blount. The family would like to express their thanks to the Mary Anne Nursing Home staff for their love, care, comfort and support given to Mary and her family through her years there.
