Mary Christine Mayes

Graveside services for Christine Mayes will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Adams Cemetery with Jamie Hawthorne officiating and Bro. Duane Moreno assisting with interment following under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00.

Mary Christine Mayes was born March 11, 1927 in Sikes, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Thomas Franklin Adams and Mary Ila Elizabeth Boles Adams and passed from this life to her heavenly home December 19, 2023 at her residence in Grayson. She is now surrounded with her family and all her favorite flowers. Christine was a long time member of Springhill Baptist Church. She loved her family, cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening and her flowers. Christine was so talented with anything she done. The family will miss her but cherish the memories she made with them.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.L. Mayes; her siblings, Fannie Adams McCarty, Audie Adams Mayes, Carolyn Adams Sanders, Katie Adams Jones, Claire Adams Johnson, Allie Vee Adams Thompson, John Adams, Marshall Adams, Ferrel Adams, George Adams, Benny Ray Adams, and her son-in-law, Lester Bergeron. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Darrell Mayes (Sue); her daughter, Gail Bergeron; her brother, Roger Dale Adams (Norma); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Jody Paul Frederick, Jake Phillips, Willie Mayes, Dalton Thrasher, Nathan Frederick, and Zeb Eubanks.
