Funeral services for Mary Alice Page Caraway, age 63, of Columbia will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 11 AM from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Linda Smith and Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 PM to 8 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Mary Alice was born October 22, 1949 to Charles F. Page, Sr. and Alice Taylor Page in Monroe, and passed from this life on January 12, 2013 at her residence in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents. She retired December 31, 2005, after 28 years of dedicated service to the Caldwell Parish Clerk of Court's Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbia and was an Active Nursery Coordinator and had spent many hours rocking babies in the nursery until her health began to fail. She married the love of her life Walter, who has devoted the last six years as her caregiver with much love and devotion. She was truly blessed with Two Sons and Two Grandchildren that she loved dearly. She was well known at the Court House Square during the Holidays for her famous candy that she would share with all who came by to visit at the Clerk's office. Survivors include her husband: Walter D. Caraway of Columbia; sons: Charles L. Caraway and wife, Ann of Kelly, Sandy D. Caraway of Ruston. Grandson: Cris Caraway; Granddaughter: Harley Caraway of Kelly. Brother: Charles (Buddy) Page, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn; Sisters: Barbara Page Stamper; Patricia Page Wyant and her husband, Ronald of Columbia. Brother-in-law: Louis D. Caraway and wife, Dinah of Grayson, Sister-in-laws: Joyce Caraway Kurtz and husband, Jeff of Alexandria, IN and Dollie Caraway of Shreveport, LA. Numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be C.H. Boyd, Hank Boyles, Charles Braddock, Ronnie Darden, Eugene Dunn and Gary Watts. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Barrett and anyone that worked at the Court House during her employment at the Caldwell Parish Clerk of Court. The Family wishes to thank the wonderful nursing staff and caregivers of First Choice Home Health & Hospice. Special thanks to the Council on Aging for their service and to Grayson Baptist Church for providing Wednesday evening meals.
