Mary Ann Bullock

Mary Ann Stokes Bullock, age 81, passed away on October 31, 2022, at Citizens Medical Center, Columbia, LA after a brief illness. Mary Ann was born August 30, 1941, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Her parents were Ellis Ray Stokes and Lura O'Rourke Mattison. Mary Ann married Raymond Bullock over 63 years ago and they made their home in West Monroe, LA where they raised their family. After retiring they went on the road, traveling the country but their hearts always seemed to turn west. Mary Ann had an adventurous spirit. She would climb on the back of a motorcycle with Raymond and they would head to the mountains. Some of her happiest times were spent with him on that bike. While on some of these adventures they found their home away from home in Chama, New Mexico, where they would return each year to stay for the summer months. She loved entertaining family and friends. She could cook a wonderful meal and tell great stories with a sense of humor that always kept you laughing. Her ready smile made everyone feel at home and relaxed. She also enjoyed painting. More important than anything to her was her family and she loved them fiercely. Mary Ann was truly beautiful inside and out. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond, and her parents.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters: Becky Keahey (Drew) of Columbia and Dee Bullock of West Monroe; her grandchildren: Zach Keahey (Kristen) and Reed Keahey (Nicole); and her great-grandchildren: Sheppard, Sawyer, Jack, Olivia, and she was so excited about the arrival of the fifth one early next year.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
