Funeral services for Mark Crain will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, La with Rev. Larry Adkins officiating and interment following at Old Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:00 PM until times of service at 2:00.
Mark Allen Crain was born April 9, 1967 in Columbia, Louisiana to the union of his parents Landry Crain and Ethel Peppers Crain, and passed from this life at Baylor University in Dallas, Texas following an extended illness. Mark was down to earth, and a busy body. He was a child when he was saved and he loved the Lord. Growing up Mark played baseball, hunted and was always outside fiddling around. He was a Railroad Locomotive Engineer for over twenty-five years. Mark was a loving husband, that enjoyed cooking, watching LSU football, raising cows, bush hogging and eating butterfingers. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and always made sure to call and check on them.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Crain; his sister, Carol Crain; maternal grandparents, Edwin and Izena Peppers; and paternal grandparents, Rev. Lavelle and Maisie Crain. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kim Crain; his father, Landry Crain; sons: Dustin Crain (Brooke), Michael Crain (Lanessa); daughters: Valerie Calhoun (Heath), Ashley Nettles (JD); his sister, Toni Guerrero; niece, Whitney Keahey (Drew); nephew, Chad Guerrero (Kacie); grandchildren, Nevaeh Crain, Addelyn Crain, William Calhoun, Andrew Calhoun, Michaela Crain, John David Moradi, Jeremiah Moradi, Case Nettles, River Nettles; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers include, Dustin Crain, Michael Crain, Chad Guerrero, Drew Keahey, Heath Calhoun, and Larry Wayne Adkins. Honorary pallbearer is Lawson Guerrero.
