Funeral Services for Margie Hughes will be held 10:00 AM, April 12, 2025 at Bosco Baptist Church in Monroe La with Bro.Bruce Underwood officiating and Bro. Roger Stouffer assisting and interment following in Bosco Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM.

Marjorie Evelyn Smith Hughes was born July 30, 1939 in Monroe, La to the union of her parents, Frank Smith Sr and Sadie Chaplin Smith and passed from this life peacefully at her residence on April 8, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Margie was a member of Bosco Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed going there. She loved music and singing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Margie loved  cooking, laughing, helping others when she could, and working in her yard, gardening and planting flowers. 

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Sonny" Hughes; sons, Wayne Hughes, Rusty Hughes; granddaughter, Chistina; siblings, Ethel Hilburn, Pat Johnson, Mary Terry, Marie Andras, and Frank Smith Jr.. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Earl Hughes; daughter-in-law, Wendy Hughes; siblings, Sherwood Smith(Marie), Shirley McMorris, Sue Watson, and Louise Robertson; grandchildren, Damien, Kandace, Craig, Brandon, Donald, Brandy, Amanda, Michael; great-grandchildren, Karoline, Kaitlyn, DJ, Ayden, Liam, Elie; and her loving nephew that took care of her, Mark Brock. We could never thank you enough for your dedication in being the best care giver you could be.
