Funeral services for Marion Poole age 73 of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Saturday November 28, 2015 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. The family will receive visitors on Friday November 27, 2015 at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mr. Poole was born on July 14,1942 in New Orleans to the union of his parents Quinton and Eula Mae Lutrick Poole and he passed from this life on Tuesday November 24, 2015 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, father; his brothers: Quinton Ray "Cooney" Poole and Richard Silas "Ricky" Poole. Mr. Poole served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia. He is survived by his wife of forty eight years: Jean Poole of Columbia, his daughter: Teri Poole Augustine and husband David of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his son: Michael Lee Poole and wife Angel and their god daughter Alayna Lyric Barnett of Columbia; his sister: Patsy "Dot" Hennessey and husband Jimmy "Slick" Hennessey of San Leon, Texas; his brother: Jimmy Poole and wife Babs of Crosby, Tennessee; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of nieces and nephews; and two childhood friends: Bob Mullen and Charles Gouger both of Houston, Texas. Pallbearers include David Wilkins, Ryan Wilkins, Lester Fields, Gary Richardson, Glenn Richardson, and Jimmy Joe Poole. Jerry Meredith will serve as honorary pallbearer.
