Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Margery Iley Gentry Parker age 90 of Grayson will be held 2pm Sunday October 9, 2011 at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson with Rev. Julius Russell officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5 to 8pm at the Riser Funeral Home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia and again on Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 1:40pm at the funeral home. Born Margery Iley Gentry on June 10, 1921 to the union of her parents, the late Joseph I. Gentry and Rose A. Thornton Gentry, she passed from this life on Friday October 7, 2011 at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Travis Aaron Parker. Mrs. Parker's entire life revolved around family. She was a wonderful cook; professional seamstress; and enjoyed baseball, being an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Thomas A. Parker and wife Valda of Grayson; Charles David Parker and wife Carol of West Monroe; and James E. "Eddy" Parker of Grayson. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Matthew "Matt' Parker of San Diego, CA; Derek Parker of Harrison, AR; Dylan Parker and Chip Tisdale both of West Monroe, LA . Her great-grandchildren include, Donovan Parker, Garrett Parker, and Gaven Parker, and a special niece, Ann "Ginger" Smith. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Parker, Derek Parker, Clifford Underwood, Steve Underwood, Dalton Langford, and Mike Parker. Honorary pallbearers include Malvern "Buddy" Smith, Darrow Parker, and Dylan Parker.
