Funeral services for Mackie Sue McCoy Linton will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from the sanctuary of Old Bethel Baptist Church, Clarks, Louisiana, with Bro Larry Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery, Clarks, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will have visitation at the church prior to the service on Tuesday, from noon until 2 PM.
Mackie Sue Reitzell Linton was born September 4, 1942, in Clarks, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, C.M. “Dick” Reitzell and Georgia Inez Walters Reitzell, and she passed from this life December 27, 2024, in Arcadia, Louisiana. Mackie was a talented woman who found joy in being busy. She had numerous hobbies including painting, crocheting and knitting. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She loved animals and had a kind heart. Whether it was offering a hot meal or a wonderful listening ear, she would help anyone should could and never met a stranger. After the passing of Pirl, she enjoyed watching football with family and she spent many hours transporting animals. Mackie loved to study her bible, which was reflected in her sweet spirit and unwavering love for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Mack McCoy and Pirl Linton; a son, Calvin Linton; sisters, Peggy Murphy and Wanda Chamblee; brother, Ed Reitzell; and grandson, J. C. McCoy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Ann Crawford, Beau McCoy, Jr. (Kathy), Denise Richardson (Stuart), Conard Linton (Lynn), and Tara Linton; beloved grandchildren: David Crawford (Leighann), Kirk Crawford (Kelly), Jessica Revels (Scott), Mac McCoy (Vin), Nick Crain (Julie), Caitlin Davidson Wilson (Gabe ), Lane Linton, and Trade Linton; great-grandchildren: Grey Crawford, Joleigh Crawford, Joseph Crawford, Kenny Crawford, Kynzie Hill, Kourtney Hill, Scarlett Revels, Jackson Revels, Whitlynn McCoy, Madelyn McCoy, Roslynn McCoy, and Rett Crain.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Leslie Lakes Retirement Center and her special neighbor, Miss Annie.
