Funeral services for Mr. Mackey Neal Etheridge, age 68 of Olla, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 17, 2010 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Curtis Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Pinehill Cemetery in Olla. Visitation will be Friday evening at the Olla funeral home from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mr. Etheridge was born on June 22, 1942 in Olla to the union of Willie Woodrow and Hilda Stringfellow Etheridge and passed from this life on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was a veteran with the US Army National Guard and retired with the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in Grayson and Olla. He was an avid sportsman who loved being in the woods and hunting. He was a member of Kitchens Creek Hunting Club and a graduate of LaSalle High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Pam Etheridge Finley. Survivors include his wife and best friend; Mary Lou Neal Etheridge, two step-sons who he thought of as his own: Jeffrey Finley and fiancé, Chris Trokee and Denny Finley and wife, Michelle, three grandsons: Jeffrey Finley, Jr., Hayden Finley, who was the light of his life and Landon Finley, two future granddaughters: Krista Ingle and Taylor Trokee, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Frances and R.C. Chandler and three canine companions and friends: Rhett, Castor and Leroy. Pallbearers will be Ronnie "Bubba" Loe, Jim Loe, Olen Coolman, Mickey Steen, Henry Ross and Joseph Jeter.
