Lois McIntyre Evans

Funeral services for Lois McIntyre Evans will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 2 PM, graveside at Ashton-McIntyre Family Cemetery, Bastrop, LA with Rev. Ashton McIntyre officiating. Services are under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, LA.

Lois McIntyre Evans, age 84 of Wisner, LA, was born August 22, 1937 in Baskin, LA to the union of her parents, Jessie Lee McIntyre and Irene Ashton McIntyre, and she passed from this life to her eternal home on Friday, October 22, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe, LA, after an extended illness. Lois worked as an administrator at nursing homes and hospitals for most of her life. She was an astute business woman. She was a faithful member of Jigger Apostolic Church until her health prevented her from attending. She loved her family and was a shining example of what a devoted wife and loving mother should be. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. "Bill" Evans; and her brother, Floyd "Femmey" McIntyre.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mike Evans; sisters: Dorthy McWiliams, Dori Carruth, and Jan Ellis; grandchildren: Tiffany Evans Douthit (Gary) and Wil H. Evans; her great-grandchildren: Caden Dee Erwin, Kaylie Deeanna Erwin, and Carson Knox Douthit; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Wil Evans, Tim Burris, Kenneth Childress, Bobby Guy Ray, Jeff Brunson, and Duane Ray.
