Linda Faye Johnson Meredith

Services for Linda Faye Johnson Meredith, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia, LA., with Bro. Denver McBroom officiating. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery, under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2022, at Riser Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Linda Faye Johnson Meredith was born January 25, 1949, in Winnsboro, LA, to the union of her parents, Joseph Johnson and Gertrude Lee Johnson, and she passed from this life, August 8, 2022, at her residence in Cottonport, LA after a brief illness, with her husband and children by her side. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who thought the world of her family and home. Linda was a long-time employee of the Louisiana State Penitentiary where she and her husband retired from the medical field. She was also a beautician. She made lots of friends along the way at both places. Linda was full of joy, always said what was on her mind, and stood for what she believed. She had three “baby dogs” that were her pride and joy, Unique, Harlee, and Sade. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe L. Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of thirty-eight years, Dale Meredith; her son, Dale Meredith Jr. (Miranda); her daughter, Christie Lypka (Mike); sisters: Joyce Walters (Arny) and Derenda Phillips (Harold); grandchildren: Scott Kleinpeter, Kyleigh Meredith, and Taylor Meredith; great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Kleinpeter, Zayne Kleinpeter, and Emelia Faye Kleinpeter, (which was named after her great-grandmother), along with a host of family and friends. She will be greatly missed. 

Pallbearers include Darren Cashio, James Summers, Mike Lypka, Scott Kleinpeter, Denny Boyette, and Joel Williams. Honorary pallbearer will be Suzonne Johnson Williams.
