Linda Dartlone Carter

Funeral services for Linda Dartlone Carter, 71, of Clarks, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. C.R. Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Linda was born October 14, 1945 to the union of William and Verlie Parker Dartlone in Clarks and she passed from this life on February 8, 2017 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. She was life long member of Grayson Baptist Church. She was a beautician for 54 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who took care of everybody. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Hazel May Brown; brother: John “Bucky” Dartlone; nieces: Judy Ratcliff Thornton and Wanda Chapman; and nephew: Thurman May. She is survived by her husband of 53 years: J.J “Skipper” Carter of Clarks; son: Jeremy Carter and his wife Mandy of Clarks; daughter: Leslie Carter Strahan and her husband Ron of Brusly, LA; sisters: Nell Winter and her husband Wyman of Grayson; Johnnie Ratcliff of Clarks; grandchildren: Jayna and Sophia Carter, Kayne, Kaylie, and Breyanna Strahan; nieces and nephews: Diane Legg, Ricky Ratcliff, Rhonda Chapman, and Pamela Gayle; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and countless friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be: Ricky Ratcliff, Mike Nappier, Colby Ellerbe, Chris Thornton, Severan Girod, and Jarrod Flores. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wyman Winter, James Martin Carter, Lance Legg, and Kayne Strahan.
