Lee Wayne Grant

Funeral services for Lee Wayne Grant, age 86 of Columbia will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, August 28, 2023, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Duke, Bro. Daniel Patton and Bro. Joe Aguillard officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery at Clarks. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Lee Wayne Grant was born on December 29, 1936, at Kelly, LA to the union of his parents, Ocie O. Grant and Lovie Sharp Grant. He passed from this life on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife, Gloria Ann Barnhill Grant; five brothers and three sisters, and a step-grandson, Ryan Mims. He ran L.W. Grant Wrecker service for many years here in Caldwell Parish. He also sold watermelons and tomatoes during the summer months. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his curious ways. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved daughter, Brenda Kenly (Rory) of Rayville; his granddaughter, Dr. Ashley Howard (Michael) of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; step-granddaughter, Mary Ramsey of Eros; his sister, Evelyn Greenwood of Kelly; his great-grandchildren: Emily Howard, Vincent Howard, and Olivia Howard; and his wonderful caregiver, Virginia Franklin of Columbia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darren McGuffee, Mitch Bratton, Charles Oxner, Tom Ramsey, Clint Simmons, and Robert Hayworth, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Randy Hatten, Ricky Hatten and Rory Kenly.

The Grant family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Randy Head and staff at Citizens Medical Center for the wonderful love, care and devotion to his every need. We will never forget what you have done.
