Killis Ray Nappier, age 65 of West Monroe was born October 29, 1957, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of his parents, Killis G. Nappier, Jr. and Mary Cathleen Boyette Nappier, and he passed from this life May 6, 2023, surrounded by numerous family and friends, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. Killis was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Rick Wilson, and a nephew Patrick Wilson.
Killis was a true Southern outdoorsman in every way. He loved to hunt and fish but he also enjoyed working in his garden. He was always working on and tinkering with things. He was most at home when he was outside, whether in the woods or on the water. Nature called to him and it was there he found his true self and was at peace.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: Lucas Nappier (Kerri) and Timothy Nappier (Miranda); his baby girl, Tara Gilbert (Scott); brothers: Gary Wilson (Barbara) and Bruce Nappier (Deborah); a sister, Cynthia Doan; the mother of his children, Dee Anne Nappier; grandchildren: Landon, Hunter, Kathryn Rae, and step-grandson, Kaden; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Killis requested that his family have him cremated and spread his ashes and they have chosen to honor his wishes. They will have a visitation for friends and family to gather and reminisce about his life. The visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
