Funeral services for Mr. Kent Ketten, age 80 of Urania, Louisiana will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Urania Pentecostal Church in Urania with Bro. Clay Hutto officiating . Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla, Louisiana. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15 from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Kent Ketten was born on February 29, 1936 to the union of his parents, Maurice and Inez Mulkey Ketten, in Belleville, Illinois. He passed from this life on February 12, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Alexandria. Kent, along with his brother, followed in the footsteps of his father and joined the Navy as a young man. He was an Electrician Mate on the destroyer, U.S.S. Blue (DD-744) during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of the Urania Pentecostal Church. He had many friends there and he loved his church family dearly. Kent was a loving, supportive father and outstanding role-model who led by example. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kay Ketten McNeil.
He is survived by his son, Kenny Ketten and wife, Angela of Tullos; daughter, Tracey Lynne Hanna of Fort Smith, Arkansas; brother, Kurt Ketten of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Vicki Ketten Grant and husband, George of Phoenix, Arizona and grandchildren: Josh Ketten, Hannah Couvillion and Josh Couvillion.
Pallbearers will be members of the Urania Pentecostal Church.
