Funeral services for Marion Blackwell "Buddy" Scroggs, Jr. age76 of Columbia will be held 10:00 am Tuesday March 17, 2015 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Monday March 16, 2015 at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Marion "Buddy" Scroggs, Jr. was born on May 1, 1938 at Columbia to the union of his parents Marion Blackwell Scroggs, Sr and Hazel Velma Sanders Scroggs, and he passed from this life on Saturday March 14, 2015 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. Buddy spent his life as a professional truck driver and was a member of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his son Marion Lucas "Luke" Scroggs; and by his sisters: Angie Potter and Nell Brown; and by his brothers: David and James Edward.
Left to cherish his memory his wife: Betty A. Ostteen Scroggs, his sons: James Scroggs and wife Clivette, John W. Scroggs and friend Elaine, Max Scroggs and wife Cindy, Mike Scroggs and wife Tamara; Eddie Scroggs and wife Lori, and Dewaine Brewer and his wife Dana;his daughters: Wanda Stroud and husband Randy, and Jennifer Strickland; two sisters: Sarah Burge and Ruth Jones; his grandchildren: Meredith, Macie, Leslie,Chris, Joe, Hannah, Justin, Heather, Bailey, Doug, Derek, Judson, Meagon, Taylor and Lucas; and six great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Brown, Colby Ellerbe, Butch Darden, Richard Gladen, Zig Zeagler, and Bob Childress. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Brown, Jimmy and Dusty Holland, the Napa Auto Parts Crew, and the Kwik Mart Crew.
In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Gideons, St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, or any charity of ones choice.
