Funeral services for William Mack "Big Man" Murphrey, Jr. age 80 of Tullos, will be held at 1 PM Thursday, November 29, 2012 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Tommy Hollis officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5 PM to 8 PM. Big Man was born on January 7, 1932 to the union of William M. Murphrey Sr., and Rena Spann Murphrey and passed from this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his residence. He was a retired oilfield supervisor who enjoyed deer hunting and being a collector. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Evelyn Jackson, Edward Murphrey, W.T. Murphrey, Lawrence Murphrey and Joe Dee Murphrey. Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Michael Murphrey of Jonesboro and Richard Murphrey of Tullos; two daughters: Rose Murphrey of Tullos and Sherral Boyett and husband, Sammy "Bingo" of Winn Parish; two sisters: Frances Blazier and husband, Raymond of Olla and Marguariette Williams and husband, Joe of Georgetown; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Olden, Ben Baines, Monty Atkins, Brad McCartney, Chad McCartney and Landon Michael Murphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Boyett and Gary Hatten.
