Jr. Martin

A memorial service for Mr. A G Martin, Jr. will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Collins Manor Apartment Complex in Columbia, LA. Mr. Martin was born on May 17, 1941 in Columbia, LA to the union of A G Martin, Sr. and Nora Girod Martin and passed from this life on February 25, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Pineville, LA. Mr. Martin served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He returned home to become a chief engineer on a river boat. He had many special friends at the Council on Aging and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters: Brenda Reene Martin and Dawan Michelle Martin; and his sister, Sharon Meredith. Those left to cherish his memory include two sisters: Marilyn Devitt of Kelly, LA and Kathy Datray of Cisco, TX; a grandson, Shayne Alexander; and his good friend and former wife, Brenda Dawan George. He had a special place in his heart for Teri Crockett, who he loved like grandchild.
