Funeral services for Mr. Alma Nelson "JR" James, Jr., age 82 of Kelly, will be 1 PM Saturday, July 18, 2009, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow at Little Star Cemetery in Kelly. Visitation will be Friday evening at the funeral home from 5PM to 9PM. Mr. James was born in Arkansas on March 19, 1927 and passed from this life on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at his residence. He was a long time employee with T.L. James and Company. JR was preceded in death by his parents, son, Adam, daughter, Julie and eight siblings: Charlotte, Edna, Bonnie, Colene, Jeannette, Syble, Oliver and half brother, Alton. Survivors include his wife; Ethel Bates James, three sons; Richard "Bubba", Alfred and Anthony, step-son; Rube, three daughters; Peggy, Flora and Josephine, two step-daughters; Winnie and Gaytha and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason Boudreaux, Aubrey Bratton, James Bratton, Mitch Bratton, Sidney Eubanks, Kevin Matherne, Mayor Charles Simons and Thomas Simons.
