Joyce Ann Canterberry

Funeral services for Joyce Ann Canterberry will be held at 10 AM, Friday, December 8, 2023, from the sanctuary of Holum Baptist Church, Holum, Louisiana, with Bro. Tommy Prince officiating. Interment will follow at Holum Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will have visitation at the church on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Joyce was born November 14, 1941, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Clayton Oliveaux and Jessie Brown Oliveaux, and she passed from this life December 3, 2023, at her home in Grayson, Louisiana. Joyce was a devoted member of Holum Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. She loved her church family. She enjoyed sewing and bowling with her friends. Joyce loved flower gardening and cooking for her family. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Canterberry; son, Alan Canterberry, Sr.; brother, Billy Ray Oliveaux; and sister, Ellen Wyant.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Julie Darden (Rex) and Cynthia Esters (Mark); son, Steven Canterberry (Jessica); brothers, Jerry Oliveaux and Frank Oliveaux (Gigi); grandchildren: Alan DeWayne Canterberry, Jr. (Amanda), Leslie Graham (Randall), Larissa Darden, Lauren Parker (Jerry), Christopher Canterberry (Brandi), Tiffany Forbes (Michael), Dacey Nolan (Tom), Zachary Canterberry (Courtnie), Amanda Cavazos (Stacy), Sarah Noland (Nathan), Heather Bennett (Brandon), Marcus Esters, and Holley Esters; 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Canterberry, Zachary Canterberry, Tyler Mullenix, Jaydon Bennett, Casston Scott, and Evan Turan.
