Joshua Lee Humphries

Funeral services for Joshua Lee Humphries, of Olla, LA, will be held at 11 AM, Monday, February 7, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Olla with Bro. Todd Whittington officiating and Bro. Denver McBroom assisting. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery, Kelly, LA. The family will receive visitors at the Olla Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Olla, LA on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 2 PM until 8 PM. 

Joshua Lee “Josh” Humphries was born May 23, 1986, in Columbia, Louisiana and died February 2, 2022, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Josh was preceded in death by his nephew, Kohen Lane Humphries; his paternal grandparents, George and Mavis Humphries; his maternal grandfather, Dalton Meredith; and his uncles: Steve Humphries, Glenn Humphries, and Jeff Humphries. 

Josh had a contagious smile, a kind heart, and sparking blue eyes that left an impression on everyone who met him. He never met a stranger and loved to help people whenever he saw a need. He loved deeply and lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Melba Blackmon Powe (David); father, Tracy Humphries (Kathy); his grandmother, Norma Meredith; sister, Kim Humphries; brother, Jordan Humphries (Amanda); step-brothers: Colby Powe (Lindsay), Ryan Powe, and Dustin Powe; nephews: Dylan Blackwell, Wyatt King, and Lincoln Powe; nieces: Jenna Humphries, Alli Powe, and Theia Powe. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and a multitude of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Humphries, Kevin Humphries, Lance Humphries, Dwayne Humphries, Bryce Stott, and Josh Blackwell. 

The family would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers, food, donations and all the help they have received during this time. Their appreciation is also extended to Daniel Ferguson Transportation, the Parker's cemetery crew, The Flower and Gift Shop, FBC of Olla, and Riser Funeral Home. They are comforted knowing each of you loved Josh as much as they did.
