Memorial services for Johnny Ray Cowden age 62 of Olla will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 27, 2022, at the New Life Assembly of God at Olla with Pastor Sandy O'Steen officiating. The Cowden Family will receive visitors at the church on Sunday beginning at 1:00 PM. Johnny's ashes will be laid to rest at the Luna Assembly of God Cemetery, Luna, LA.
Johnny Ray Cowden was born on December 22, 1959, in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Henderson A. Cowden and Frances Ellington Foster Cowden and he passed from this life on February 22, 2022, at the Hardtner Medical Center in Urania after a sudden illness. Johnny was a deisel mechanic but he was able to work on and fix just about anything. As typical southern outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and camping. He always enjoyed working on his car. He was always joking around with his friends and family. Johnny loved his family dearly but he especially loved his wife, Karen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Johnny B. Williams, Thomas W. Williams, Betty R. Cowden, Janice L. Stone, and several siblings that passed away at birth; and also a sister-in-law, Joan Williams and brother-in-law, Ellis Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Karen Kay Kennedy Cowden; sisters: Linda S. Davis of West Monroe, Wanda E. Fatheree (Billy) of Grayson, and Bonnie M. Clark (Joseph) of Columbia; brother, Raford M. Williams of West Monroe; stepsons: Eugene Moore and Jimmy Moore; grandson, Jackson Moore; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
