Graveside services for Mr. Johnnie Crawford, age 93, of Sicily Island, will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville. Family and friends will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 AM to 10 AM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Procession to the cemetery will depart from the funeral home at 10 AM. Mr. Crawford was born on October 24, 1919 in Enterprise to the union of Addie W. Crawford, Sr. and Frances Edith Williams Crawford and passed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Mary Anna Nursing Home in Wisner. He was a barber and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sicily Island. He was a member of the Sicily Island Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and served with the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma Marie Crawford; sister, Mildred McCormack and brothers: E.P. Crawford, A.W. Crawford, Jr., and Floyd Crawford. Survivors include his two sons: William C. Crawford and wife, Suzie of Monroe and John R. Crawford and wife, Arlene of Bentley; four grandchildren: Donya Gail Crawford and husband, Dale Craig of Pineville, Billy Crawford of Monroe, Todd Crawford of Gulfport, MS and Kevin Crawford and wife, Dedra of Hot Springs Village, AR; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sicily Island, library of your choice or any other charity of your choosing.
