A memorial service for Twill Parker will be held at 5:15 PM Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Riser Funeral Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Rod Shipp officiating and Bro. Billy Lane McClannahan assisting. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until time of service at 5:15.
John William Parker was born on May 12, 1943 in Columbia, La to the union of his parents, Fred Parker and Beatrice Shipp Parker and passed from this life on February 10, 2024 at his residence with his loved ones by his side. Twill was a hard worker, and a avid outdoors man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rodeoing, and camping. After Twill stopped rodeoing himself, he started attending them. He also enjoyed going to auctions, spending time with his grandchildren, drinking coffee on the porch waiting on that lunch time phone call from Debbie.
Twill was preceded in death in death by his parents, two sisters Lucy Caldwell and Mildred Wallace,and two sons, Daniel Franklin and Jerry Franklin. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of thirty seven years Debbie Spires Parker; sons, Terry Parker (Lauren), Bobby Franklin; daughters, Betty Parker, Lahomia Burr, Darlene Weatherly; brothers, Jimbo Emmons (Tammy), Danny Emmons (Wendy); grandchildren, Natalie Parker, Layken Parker, Clay Evans, Stanley Neathery, Cody Burr, Maria Burr; great-grandchildren, Emma Evans, Molly Evans, Mila Burr; his best friends, Andy Delancey (Stephanie), Dewey Carter (Bobbie), Becky Howard, John Wayne Duncan; and a host of extended family.
