Graveside services for John Dale Dilley, age 57 of Hebert, will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 11, 2011 at Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville, LA. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 4 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Dilley was born on August 16, 1954 in Winnsboro, LA and passed from this life on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He worked as a welder offshore. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, but most especially, being with his family and friends. John was artistic and had a generous spirit. His generosity and love showed in all the young peoples' lives where he took them under his wing and gave them advice and support, acting as a second parent to most. He was a straightforward man, and you knew where you stood with him. He loved many and was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his father, George Dilley, son, Johnny Wayne Dilley, brother, Billy Wayne Dilley and step-sister, Andrea Williams. Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Cherylyn Ellis Dilley, mother, Laura Faye Russell both of Hebert, three sons: Joey Dilley and wife, Kassey of Winnsboro, Matthew Luke Dilley and Billy Hank Dilley, daughter, Samantha Faye Dilley, extended son, R.J. Eubanks, mother-in-law, Barbara Biggs all of Hebert, three step-brothers: Butch Weems, Ricky Massey and wife, Sheri and Mark Massey and wife, Candy all of Winnsboro, two step-sisters: Terry Rayburn and Marsha Knox and husband, Billy both of Winnsboro, grandchildren: Christina Grace Dilley, Devin McManus, Leighton McManus, Hailie Dilley, Kassie Dilley, Caiden James Eubanks, Christopher Wayne Dilley and one on the way along with the first great-grandson on the way. Pallbearers will be Robbie Cain, Walter Watson, Cliff Stamper, Robert Simpson, David Mills, Jeremy McKeithen, Steven Coates, Bryan Perot and Terry Cox.
