Funeral services for Joe L. Hatten age 66 of Clarks, LA will be held 2pm Friday October 12, 2012 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Maxwell Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Thursday evening October 11, 2012 from 5pm until 9pm at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia. Joe Luther Hatten was born on November 13, 1945 at Delhi, LA to the union of his parents Alvin Edward "Bud" Hatten and Dorothy Lee Price Hatten. He passed from this life on Tuesday October 9, 2012 at his residence following an extended but courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by three brothers, Paul William Hatten, Carl Ray Hatten, and James Aubrey Hatten; and by his sister Linda Kay Hatten Litton. Joe was a member of the First Church of God in Columbia. He loved building with his hands in wood and carpentry, and also loved gardening. He was a retired brick layer. Survivors include his beloved wife, Sandy D. Hatten of Clarks; four sons, Joe M. Hatten and wife Misty, of Washington State; Stacy K. Hatten of West Monroe; Steven Hatten of Grayson; and Zachary Ryan Hatten of Clarks; two daughters, Angela M. Graham of Mangham; and Amber N. Hatten and fiancée John LaShare of Grayson; three brothers, Lee Hatten of Florida, Johnny Hatten of Pasadena, Texas; and Craig Hatten of Columbia; four sisters, Bonnie Hatten, Jan Hatten, and Sandy Brown, all of Grayson; and Cindy McKee of Columbia. Joe also leaves his precious grandchildren, Crystal, J.C., Whitney, Mike, Hunter, Brian, Noah, Dakota, Darian, Gracie, and Kylie; and great-grandchildren, Sadie, Rachel, and Ava. Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton McDowell, Bert Rogers, Randy Tyler, John Monroe, Danny Ostrum, and Jim Clark. Jimmy Richmond will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
