Funeral services for JoAnn Wallace, 86 of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday November 28, 2020 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Bro Bruce McGee and Bro Shane Duke will be officiating. Graveside service will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 PM the day of services.
JoAnn was born December 23, 1933 in Winnfield, LA and passed peacefully from this life November 25, 2020. She was a homemaker, substitute teacher, and Sunday School teacher. After attending La Tech for 3 ½ years majoring in Elementary Education, JoAnn wasn’t just any substitute teacher at Columbia Elementary. She was the preferred substitute by Principal, teachers, and students. The children loved her whenever she was in their classroom as she loved on them and made learning fun. For many years she dedicated her time and energy to Columbia Elementary because she wanted to make a difference in the life of each child. JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be sorely missed by all. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Anderson; mother, Ilah (Davis) Stallcup; and husband, Billy Wallace.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Jim (Surmartha) and Bob (Lori) Wallace; grandchildren Chad Wallace (Heather), Kyle Wallace (Deborah), Dale Wallace (Courtney), Lora Walker (Zach), and Jaime Hardgrove (Matt); great-grandchildren Cade Wallace, Lola Walker, Caroline Wallace, William Wallace, and Claire Wallace.
Pallbearers will be Chad Wallace, Kyle Wallace, Dale Wallace, Zach Walker, Matthew Hardgrove, and Steve May.
