Funeral services for Jim Clyde Washam, age 81, of Hebert, will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert with Rev. Dr. Jack O' Dell officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
Jim was born January 27, 1932 to Hughel and Dorotha Vestal Washam in Mangham and he passed from this life on September 4, 2013 at Ruston Nursing Home and Rehab in Ruston.
He was a cotton farmer and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He also sponsored many people through AA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by five daughters: Dorotha Washam Holloway and her husband James David of Uncertain, TX; Pamela Washam Hawkes of West Monroe; Amanda Washam O' Dell and her husband Jack of Lake Charles; Monica Washam Bearden and her husband Delane of Downsville; Dana Washam Galivan and her husband Norbert of Mandeville; two brothers: Bennie Washam and his wife Geneva of Hebert; Robert Washam and his wife Nellie of Hebert; sister: Bonnie Washam Cox and her husband Gene of Monroe; grandchildren: Stuart Holloway, Heather Ice, Jacob Hawkes, Caleb Hawkes, Eryn Hawkes, Miranda Miner, Noah O' Dell, Kyle McAdams, Kara McAdams, Sara Carpenter, Kody McAdams, Casey Marks, and Katelyn Marks; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Hawkes, Caleb Hawkes, Casey Marks, Noah O' Dell, Kody McAdams, James David Holloway, and Delane Bearden.
