Memorial service for Jesse Walter Greer, age 62 of Olla will be held 3:00 PM Thursday September 8, 2016 from the Riser Funeral chapel in Olla with Rev. Ronnie Tarver officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home also on Thursday from 2:00 PM until time of service. Jesse Walter Greer was born on May 23, 1954 at Jena, LA to the union of his parents Jesse Durham Greer and Allene Shaw Greer. He passed from this life on Sunday at his residence following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his significant other Lisa Knighten. Survivors include his children: Jesse Trinity Greer and wife Carol of Cornersville, Illinois and Melisa Greer Chapman and husband Casey of Trout, LA; his special friend: Nelly Hennebe McKinzy of Columbia; his brother: Edmond Earl Greer of Denver, Colorado and his sister Mary Moon of Texas; also two grandchildren: Cody Lane Greer and Blade Lynn McMillin.
