Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Crawford Stephens, age 74, of Hebert will be held 10am Tuesday March 22, 2011 from the sanctuary of Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev's: Brian Rankin and Billy Lane McClanahan officiating. Interment will follow in the Hewitt Cemetery at Mangham with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Monday evening March 21, at the Fellowship Baptist Church from 4pm until 9pm and again on Tuesday from 8am until time of service. Janie Lavonia Crawford Stephens was born on June 12, 1936 in Oklahoma to the union of her parents, the late James Edwin and Cora Ray Mitchell Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Stephens, Sr.; her son in law: Billy Fore, her grand daughter Jana Strickland; and by two sisters: Mary Connor and Margaret Rodriguez. She was a retired school bus driver with the Caldwell Parish School System, and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her son: Henry "Bully" Stephens, Jr. and wife Brenda, of Hebert. Two daughters: Jan Strickland and husband Roy of Columbia; and Deborah Duncan and husband John of Columbia. Her brother: Donald Crawford of Oregon, two sisters: Betty Maddox of Oklahoma and Wanda Gauthier of Oregon. Two sisters-in-law: Kay Crain and Betty Fife, both of Hebert. Her grandchildren: James Stephens and special friend Lynn, Charles Stephens and wife Brandy, Roger Stephens and fiancée Brandy, Matt Strickland, and Nicky Hixson and husband Kevin. Her great grandchildren: Connor, Morgan, Michael, Gabe, Remington, Maddy, Olivia, Kelcey, Kacey, Joseph, and Sean. Pallbearers include: Kenny Graham, Jimmy Graham, James Stephens, Charles Stephens, Roger Stephens, and Matt Strickland. Kevin Hixson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
