Funeral services for Mrs. Janellan Jones Rizzo age 76 of Columbia and formerly of Alexandria will be held 2PM Monday from the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev . Joe Kite officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5to 9PM , and on Monday from 9AM until time of service , all at Riser Funeral Home, Olla, La.. Janellan Jones Goodwin Rizzo was born on October 19, 1932 at Chase, La. to the union of her parents, the late Daniel Cleve Jones and Onie Susan Killingsworth Jones. She passed from this life on Friday June 12, 2009 at the Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe following an extended illness. Janellan was well known in the Central Louisiana area having owned and operated numerous restaurants and hotels. At one time she was banquet manager Coordinator at Holiday Inn in Alexandria, and she and her husband Tony Rizzo owned and operated the Red Kettle Reataurant for years. She was also manager and owner of the Days Inn restaurant in Alexandria. She was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. Janellan was preceded in death by her husband James Goodwin, her sister Barbara Daughterty and a brother Jimmie Lee Jones. Survivors include: Son: Terry Goodwin of Alexandria. Three grandchildren: Shane Goodwin and wife Jessica of Missouri, Christopher Cody Goodwin and wife Danielle of Fort Worth, Texas, and Courtney Rene Goodwin of Houma, La. Two great grandchildren Ayden Goodwin and Jace Goodwin. Brother: David Earl Jones and wife Dorothy of Olla. Four sisters: Mary McDaniel and Bonnie Poole and her husband Clifton all of Olla. Betty Jordan of Winnfield, and Virginia Craig, of West Monroe. Pallbearers will be Cody Goodwin, Shane Goodwin, Jerry Wayne Ramsey, Stevie Jordan, Jason Arledge, and Timmy Jones.
