Funeral services for James Woody Thompson age 70 of Clarks will be held 2:00 PM Sunday March 13, 2016 from the sanctuary of Clarks United Pentecostal Church with Bro. Bobby Bennett officiating. Bro. Johnathan Broussard will be in charge of music . Interment will follow at the Little Star Cemetery at Holum under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Saturday March 12, 2016 at the church in Clarks from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
James Woody Thompson was born on August 2, 1945 at Jigger, LA to the union of his parents Albert A. "Bill" Thompson and Medie Arvella Pierce Thompson and went to be with the Lord with his family by his side on Friday March 11, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Woody was known for his sweet smile and the laughter that he shared with everyone around him whereever he went.He worked as an auto body technician for 32 years. He loved his family and God. He worked as youth leader, Sunday School teacher and was blessed with the ability to lead many bible studies. Woody had so many friends that enjoyed his stories and laughter. Woody was preceded in death by his parents, and by his daughter: Shirley Thompson and his son: James Woody Thompson Jr.
Left to cherish his memory: his wife: Judy Lott Thompson of Clarks; his son: Jason Thompson and wife Roxanne, his daughter: Kisha Thompson, brother: Albert Thompson and wife Sharon, his sisters: Ann Spence , Lou Phillips, Billie Gilmore, Dorothy Volentine, and Lynda Stratton; his grandchildren: Johnathan Broussard, Shay Broussard, Lacey Rockett, Christian Spells, Nathan Mitchell, Whitney Thompson, Caleb Smith, Mena Thompson, Christopher Whittle, Ceirra Thompson, Mallory Rockett, and Jathon Thompson; and two great grandchildren: Riley Sims and Bailee Kelly.
Pallbearers include Brett Thompson, Bart Thompson, Kurt Lott, Daniel Martin, Billy Baker, and Nathon Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers include Jathan Thompson, James Gilmore, Carl Girod, David Broussard and Ricky Gilmore.
Inlieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Clarks United Pentecostal Church "Save Our Children" Project.
