James Kenneth Moore was born in Columbia, LA on January 10, 1948, to the union of his parents, James Edgar Moore and Nora Bell Cockerham Moore, and he passed from this life on June 15, 2022, at his residence. James was a member of the Garrett Road Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading his westerns, as well as, keeping up his yard and his vegetable garden. He took a lot of pride in that yard and shared his love of yard work with his grandbabies as he took each one of them for a lawnmower or tractor ride at some point in their lives. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He could be counted on to lend a hand to help anybody he could. James was in the Army, where he was a helicopter mechanic and a flight engineer. He was very proud to have served in Vietnam, and his family will cherish that honor for him as well. After serving he went on to work where he became a millwright and traveled all over the country. James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Elizabeth "Liz" Wilkes.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-five years, Zelda Duchesne Moore; his son, Chris Moore (Cherie); grandchildren: Christen Moore (Paul Brasseaux) and her mother Carla, Sophia Ratcliff (Brady), Kaleb Moore, and Kayleigh Moore and their mother Rene.
Pallbearers will be Paul Brasseaux, Brady Ratcliff, Edge Crum, Ben Washam, Austin Strahan, and Dee Lovelady. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Burris, Shane Wilkes, Dwight Lovelady, Allen Maxwell, Jerry Duff, and Jimmy Duff.
