Jackie Newsome Tarver

Jacqueline Newsome Tarver, age 79 of Olla, passed from this life on March 22, 2023, at Hardtner Medical Center, Urania, Louisiana. She was born October 30, 1943 in Gadsden, Alabama to the union of her parents, William Thomas and Mary Mackey Newsome. Jackie was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Father Frank Fuller and Father Rob Harkness will be officiating. The family will host a visitation on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 5 PM until 7 PM at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla, LA.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Newsome Arthur; and daughter-in-law, Teresine Smalling Tarver.

She is survived by her husband, Clifton Tarver; son, William Douglas Tarver and wife, Donna; son, Brian Ashby Tarver and wife, Melanie; granddaughters, Amy Sliger and Katie Johnson; and brother, Mack Newsome.
