Mr. Isaiah McClain, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed from this earthly life on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. Isaiah was born in Columbia August 3, 1930 to Isaiah and Geraldine (Wiley) McClain, Sr. He was a graduate of Pittsburgh Art Institute, and served in the Army during the Korean War. Isaiah worked in the field of furniture repair for many years. He loved working with his hands, and is remembered for expressing his talents with arts and crafts, as well as cooking and baking.
Isaiah was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Willie McCain, and his granddaughter Meagan McClain. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Dorothy; his sons: Costaes (Karlyn) and Darryl (Berthina); his daughter, Mineola (Will) Minger; his sister, Zoline Gray; his grandchildren: Darryl Jr, Gabby, Kelsey, CC, Logan, two great-grandchildren, as well as many loving friends. In keeping with his wishes, his family has lovingly chosen cremation, and a memorial service to honor his life will be held at a later time.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 8, 2020 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Olla, LA. The family will receive visitors on Saturday beginning at 12:00 Noon at the Hall.
