Irma Leona Cox

Funeral services for Irma Leona Cox, age 87 of Marion, LA and formerly of Caldwell Parish, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 23, 2022, from the Columbia chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Robin Cox and Rev. Matt Coker officiating. Interment will follow in the Adams Cemetery west of Kelly, LA . Visitation will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the funeral home from 5 PM until 8 PM and Sunday January 23, 2022 from Noon until time of service.

Irma Leona Perot Cox was born on October 19, 1934, here in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Overton Perot and Myrtle Holmes Perot and she passed from this life on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Gilbert Willard Cox; three children: Wilmur Roberson, Gwen Cannon, and Pam Wink; her in-laws, Gilbert and Minnie Cox ; two great-grandchildren: McKenzie Murphy and Josephine Hendrix Fife; her brothers: John Perot, Neal Perot, Richard Perot, Clayton Perot, and William Perot; and her sisters: Audie Fatheree and Ada Lindsey.

Known affectionately as MaMaw by everyone, her door was always known to be open. She loved watching birds and wildlife from her home and loved growing flowers. She also loved music and loved to sing.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Robin Cox and wife, Susan of Marion and Kaye Snell and husband, Hank of Marion; her brother, Curtis Perot and Linda of Clarks; sister in law Carma Perot of Minden: fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jessie Snell, Scotty Snell, Casey Wink, Nathan Hendrix, Brandon Hendrix, Jason Cummings, Dawson Snell, Brinkley Thomas, and Stephen Dean. Honorary pallbearers include Ben Thomas, Jonathan Calhoun, Logan Bass, Nick Lindsey, Kenneth Fatheree, Jared Bowen, Brandon Thomas, Jonathan Dean and Eric Rushing.
