Hugh Franklin Ainsworth

Funeral services for Hugh F. Ainsworth, age 92, of Monroe will be held 1:00 PM Friday April 4, 2025 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Hall officiating and Christopher Clark delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery at Hebert, LA. The Ainsworth Family will receive visitors on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

Hugh Franklin Ainsworth was born on October 18, 1932 at Columbia, LA to the union of Benjamin Ainsworth and Bessie Mae Cupples Ainsworth. He passed from this life on April 1, 2025 in Monroe following an extended illness. Hugh loved to fish and garden. He and his wife Nellie owned a camp at Hebert, LA and always enjoyed spending time there after retirement. He retired with Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. He also enjoyed farming for Kenny Anderson Farms. He loved the Atlanta Braves and New Orleans Saints. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Nellie Faulk Ainsworth. Hugh came from a family of about fourteen siblings and now only one remains. He recently lost his daughter, Darlene Ainsworth White.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his sons, Gayland Ainsworth of Monroe and Billy Ainsworth of Granite City, Illinois; his daughter, Marlene Crowell of Eros; his brother, Marvin Ainsworth of Texas; seven grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Ashley Bradley (Derrick) Nicholas White, Deena White, Casey White, Jennifer Emmerich, Ricky Sikes and Tori Ainsworth and great-grand daughter, Marissa Bradley.
