Gladys Louise Fussell

Gladys Louise Fussell was born August 12, 1949, in Huntington, West Virginia, and she passed from this life May 17, 2024, at her home in Jena, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer "Jiggs" Fussell; her mother, Frances Fullen; daughter, Patricia Fussell; and brother, Clifford Beeler. Gladys enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. She loved watching the birds and squirrels in her yard. Gladys was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her life taking care of her family. She was loved and will be greatly missed. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Benny Fussell (Lisa), April Doughty (Joseph Noble), and Frances Lamb (Jonathan); grandchildren: Dana Beeson (Jerry), Heather Fussell, Quincy Doughty (Abby), Todd Doughty, Christopher Fussell, Brenden Lamb, Brighton Lamb, Summer Lamb, and Hunter Berry; and her ten great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Doughty, Quincy Doughty, Holden Rasberry, Charles Rasberry, Wesley Rasberry, and Stephen Doughty. Honorary pallbearers are Brighton Lamb, Tyler Hemphill, and Hunter Berry.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Urania Pentecostal Church, Urania, LA, with Bro. Clay Hutto officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Creek Cemetery in Winn Parish under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Olla, Louisiana. The family will have visitation at the church on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00.
