Fred Raymond Leach passed from this life May 20, 2012 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Jena, LA. He was born May 24, 1921 in Standard, LA to the union of William Taylor and Pinkey Odessa Nugent Leach. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM at Riser Funeral Home in Olla. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM at Pollock Cemetery, Grant Parish, LA. with Bro. Bo Prather officiating.
Mr. Leach was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Sigman Leach, his parents and three brothers, William Napoleon, Louis Edgar, and Bobby E. Leach.
Fred was employed by The Urania Lumber Company until it was sold to the Louisiana Pacific Corporation and later, retired from this company.
He was a faithful member of The First Baptist Church of Urania, a fifty nine year member and past secretary of Charles. F. Buck Masonic Lodge #260, a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. Also a member of Woodman Camp 306 in Urania as well as a charter member of the WW2 Museum in New Orleans, having honorably served in the U.S. Navy during that war.
Pallbearers will be : Kevin Daugherty, Wayne Corley, Ron Skinner, E. Forrest Cook, Danny Corley, and Mike Corley. Honorary Pallbearers will be: John S. "Sonny" Bailey, Donald R. Corley, W. Bowman McCartney, Sr., Ray B. Miller, and J.F. "Mutt" Roberts.
