Graveside funeral services for Frances F. Walker, age 88 of Columbia will be held 10:00AM Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Crossroads Cemetery at Grayson, with Rev. Ken Evans and Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Visitation will be on Monday evening July 23,from 5 until 9pm at the Grace Baptist Church at Grayson. Interment will be under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. She was born Frances Pauline Flowerree on February 25, 1924 at Clarks, LA to the union of her parents James Paul Flowerree, Sr. and Mary Juanita Brown Flowerree Shell. She passed from this life on Sunday July 22, at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved step-father Charlie Shell, and by her two husbands; Daniel "Mac" McCarty, Sr. and Lawson Walker; her son, Paul David McCarty;her daughter-in-law, Tommie Lane McCarty, and by her brothers, James Paul Flowerree, Jr. ; Elton Shell, and by her sister Earline Underwood. Frances was a Childcare Attendant, and working with children was her great love. She was especially fond of all little children. She was also a devoted and faithful member of her church, Grace Baptist, in Grayson. Left to cherish her memory, her son, Daniel "Boone" McCarty, Jr. and wife Emma, of Harrisonburg; her daughter-in-law, Barbara McCarty of Sikes; her brother Alton "Pete" Shell and wife Avis of Angleton, Texas; her sister, Lora Anne May of Grayson; and her sister-in-law, Lorene Flowerree, of Brazoria, TX. She also leaves behind her six precious grandchildren, Leah Clingan, Paul David McCarty, Jr., Brock Abraham McCarty, Vicki Lane Brunson, Dr. Erin Davezac, and Daniel William McCarty, III; sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and her special niece, Molly May of Grayson. Pallbearers include Mark May, Jonathan Folds, Logan Hunter Clingan, Daniel McCarty, III; Paul David McCarty, and Brock Abraham McCarty. Honorary pallbearers include Michael Clingan, Mike Pollard ,Earl Nelson, Larry Humphries, Clint Brunson, and Boyd Davezac. The Walker family would like to sincerely thank the Doctor's and Staff at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, for the dedication and love extended to their mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. They would also like to thank the Caldwell Parish Housing Authority for their friendship and love extended to Mrs. Walker in the past few years.
