Floyd John Bergeron, Jr. was born January 4, 1962, in Houma, Louisiana, and he passed from this life November 21, 2024, at his home in Columbia, Louisiana. Floyd was a diesel mechanic and truck driver and he enjoyed working. He loved being on the road whether he was in a truck or on his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed music and spending time with his family. Floyd was a kind man who loved helping people. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd John Bergeron, Sr. and Alice Faye Smith Hendrix.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Hearold Brast; his children: Ryan Bergeron, Bridget Dugger, Brian Dear, and Destiney Kicklighter; brother, Tommy Bergeron; sisters: Evelyn Sikes, Carolyn Hefner (Russ), Zina Bergeron, and Juanita Hendrix; grandchildren: Madison Dugger, Raegan Dugger, and numerous step-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Beech Creek Cemetery, west of Olla in Winn Parish. Rev. Joe Aguillard will be officiating. The family will have visitation prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM and ending at 1:30 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Alford, Dillon Hefner, Derek Hefner, Jerry Dilley, Chris Arnold and William White. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Gilmore, Thomas Kicklighter and Eli Bergeron.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to offset funeral expenses. Donations are accepted at Riser Funeral Home and a link to donate is below for convenience.
