Ethel Margaret Mott

Burial Service for Ethel Mott will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Old Bethel Cemetery. Ethel Margarette Mott was born to the union of her parents, Mack Gunn and Irene Johnston Gunn, December 6, 1919, in Joyce, La in a box car, and passed from this life at Haven Nursing Home, July 10, 2023 at the age of 103. Mrs Mott was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She held a passion for reading, sewing, and traveling. Her favorite times were spent with her husband raising cattle and growing cotton. Ethel was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-eight years James Wilson Mott; sons, James Glen Mott and Gary Dennis Mott; daughter-in-law, Patricia Feeney Mott; and nine siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ginger Mott; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Mott; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.

The Mott family would like to extend a most grateful thank you to the staff at Haven Nursing Home and Ascend Hospice Care. She received excellent care and thought of them as family. The family would also like to honor her two special friends, Joe Fisher and Eunice Taylor.
