Services for Mrs. Ernestine "Tina" Ann Abernathy Woods, age 65 of Hebert, will be 2 PM Saturday, February 21, 2009 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Marvin Tabora officiating. Interment will follow at The Greater Apostolic Church Cemetery in Chatham. Mrs. Woods was born on June 11, 1943 in Oak Grove to the union of James Lewis and Dolly Wilson Abernathy and passed away on February 18, 2009 at her residence. She attended Woolen Lake Church of God and owned her own furniture business. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son; Richard Aulds, daughter; Amanda Aulds and two brothers. Survivors include her husband; Truman L. Woods of Hebert, two sons; Teddy Dwayne Thornton of Calhoun and Shannon Lester Thornton and wife, Bernadette of San Antonia, TX, daughter; Debbie Lynn Ashley and husband, Jason of Chickashaw, OK, step-son; Truman Jack Woods and wife, Jennifer of Norman, OK, two brothers; JL Abernathy and wife, Zelda of Jackson, MS and Kenneth Abernathy and wife, Karen of Oak Grove, four sisters; Jean Robinson and husband, George of Terry, MS, Faye Gunter and husband, James of Tallulah, Cleda Plumbly and husband, Dwayne of Fort Worth, TX and Rita Kay Harris and husband, David of West Monroe, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Josh Ashley, Davin Davis, Matt Thornton, Danny Richardson, Terry Griffin and Charles Davis.
