Ernest Joseph "Joey" Sears III was born March 26, 1965, to the union of his parents, Ernest Joseph Sears Jr. and Barbara Sears of Farmville, Virginia. He passed away September 2, 2024, after a long illness, at his home in Olla, Louisiana. Joey was dedicated to serving his community as an Volunteer Firefighter of Olla Fire Department. He was a big jokester and joked around with anyone. He was a loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He loved all of his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Victoria Venae Patten (Marvin Patten) and Joedee Alexis Gardner (Jordan Gardner); his sons: Chris Robinson (Carie Robinson) and Jay Sears; his grandkids: Lucas Patten, Jetsynn Gardner, Joseph Gardner, Cayla Kelly, Candace Robinson, and CJ Robinson; his mother, Barbara Sears; siblings: Gregory Sears and Angie Sears Warriner (Christopher Warriner); nieces, Katlyn Boze and Tiffany McEvoy; nephews: Colby Warriner, Avery Brazell, Ashton Beckham, and Kyle Smith; father in law, Aubrey Smith; mother in law, Elaine Smith; and a host of great -grandkids, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was met at the gates of heaven with open arms by his wife, Vicki Lynn Smith Sears; daughter, Brittany Lynn Smith Martin; granddaughter, Briliegh Lynn Martin; father, Ernest Joseph Sears Jr. and grandmother, Peggie Miles.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are the following; Ashton Beckham, Avery Brazell, John Welch, Justin Baum, Cody Frizzell, and Marshall Rigdon.
Honorary Pallbearers: Marvin Patten, Jordan Gardner, Marshall McMahan, Michael Herman, Robert Miles.
Visitation will be held at Olla Pentecostal Church on Sunday, September 8, 2024, beginning at 5PM.
Services will be held at Olla Pentecostal Church on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 3PM with Rev. Jonathan Crist, Rev. Clay Hutto, and Bro. Wilburn LaRue officiating. Interment will follow in Olla Cemetery of Olla, Louisiana under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Olla.
