Graveside services for Mr. Elvis Henry Coates, age 75 of Columbia, will be 11AM Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Fellowship Cemetery, HWY 846 in Columbia, with Bro. Brian Rankin officiating. Mr. Coates was born in Columbia on December 28, 1933 to the union of Henry Webster and Emma Addie Kelly Coates and passed from this life on Monday, July 20, 2009 in Columbia. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. Elvis was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Barney Frith, three brothers: Elby Coates, Elly Coates and Russell Coates and two sisters: Leola Williams and Elver Coates. Survivors include two sons: Mike Coates and wife, Shirley of Winter Garden, FL and Jimmy Coates of IN, four daughters: Monica Pittman and husband, Tim of West Monroe, Pamela Shaw of Baldwyn, MS, Debbie Griffin of Tampa, FL and Cheryl Marshall and husband, Steve of Puyallup, WA, brother; Norman Coates and wife, Bobbie of Clarks and daughter-in-law; Susan Frith of Booneville, MS, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Sanders, James Cowan, Jim Honeycutt and Jimmy Richmond.
