Funeral services for Elvin Allbritton age 71 of Tullos will be held 10:00 am Monday February 1, 2016 from the sanctury of New Union Baptist Church at Tullos with Bro Tommy Hollis and Bro. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the New Union Cemetery with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Visitation will be on Sunday January 31, 2016 at the Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Elvin Allbritton was born on August 21, 1944 at Jena, LA to the union of his parents Dewey Elmer Allbritton and Velma Rosalie Wright Allbritton, and he passed from this life on Friday January 29, 2016 at the Jena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was the youngest of five children. He served as teacher, principal and supervisor in the LaSalle Parish School System. He enjoyed working with people, especially children. He also helped multiple people receive their GED diploma through LaSalle Correctional Center. He enjoyed outdoor activities; especially hunting and fishing. The Tullos community was near to his heart. He helped secure a grant for the development of the Tullos walking trail and playground. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Thelma, his brother Kent Allbritton of Houston, TX and Pete Allbritton of Huntsville, TX. Survivors include his wife Susan Allbritton of Urania, one daughter Ashtin Allbritton Bradford and husband Austin Bradford of Tullos, LA; one son William Allbritton and wife Debby of LaGrange, TX. He had two granddaughters, Eden Bradford of Tullos and Emma Ruth Allbritton of LaGrange, TX. He is also survived by one brother, Bob Allbritton and wife Carolyn of Olla and one sister Melba Morrow of Houston. He also has many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Cliff Williams Memorial Foundation which benefits students in the LaSalle Parish School System. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonny Fryar, Mickey Roark, Kent Roark, Jonpatrick Fryar, Brandon Fryar, and Austin Bradford.
