Elmer Lisenby

Funeral services for Elmer "Bubba" Lisenby will be Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Urania Pentecostal Church at 2:00 PM with Bro. Clay Hutto officiating. Interment will follow at the Olla cemetery, Visitation will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Urania Pentecostal Church from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Elmer "Bubba" Lisenby, 85 of Olla passed from this life December 9, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Bubba was born January 21, 1935 to the union of his parents, Ernest Lisenby and Dicie Cruse Lisenby. Bubba was one of a kind. He never met a stranger, loved small talk and worked hard all his life. Bubba loved hunting, fishing, picking peas, working in his garden, but two of his favorite things was building and selling hoop nets (which he mostly gave away) and his puppy "Gidget". Bubba worked in the oil field at a young age then went to Louisiana Pacific and worked in the boiler room until he retired. After retiring from LP he then took a job at the Olla Elementary School and worked there for twenty-two years and then retired from there as well. Bubba worked for the Police Jury for many years and loved every minute of it. Bubba was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Wesley Lisenby; brothers: Jeep Lisenby and Stumpy Lisenby; sister, Margie Ponder; granddaughter, Misty LaShay Lisenby, and a daughter-in-law, Anna Lisenby. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-six years, Ollie Lisenby; sons: Gary Lisenby (Marilyn), Kenny Lisenby (Brenda); daughter, Jennifer Higginbotham (Johnny); his twin sister, Alma Hall (David); sister, Dorothy Jackson; grandchildren: Brandon Sanders (Jessica), Cory Lisenby, Michael Lisenby, Dylan Higginbotham, Alanna Higginbotham, Karla Cockerham (Scott), Derek Lisenby, Melissa Rainbolt and Bobby Guichet Jr. (Hailey); great-grandchildren: Wyatt Sanders, Anna Rose Sanders, Macy Mills, Jacob Mills,Madison Lisenby, Bella Lisenby, Hannah Rainbolt, Seth Mills, Byron Guichet, Baleigh Guichet, Bella Lisenby, Madisin Lisenby, and Hannah Rainbolt. Pallbearers will be Brandon Sanders, Cory Lisenby, Joey Lisenby, Sr., Logan Scroggins, Ethan Duncan, and Billy Lisenby.
